Founding Faculty, Digital Biology Chair, Singularity U
Raymond is the Founding Faculty and Chair, Digital Biology at Singularity University. He was on the team that invented next-generation DNA sequencing. He is an accomplished systems biologist, bioinformaticist, biophysicist, computer scientist, and storyteller. Raymond also co-founded BioCurious, the world’s pre-eminent biohackerspace. He holds strong beliefs that kindergartners should hack biology the way they do Tinkertoys and that there should be more biotech startups than Starbucks. He hopes to do for science communications what Disney did for cartoons.
